The more I think about it, the dafter it seems. Driving pegs in, the bottom could drop right out, leaving them tangled up in freezing water wrapped in a textile tea bag.
Doesn’t look too safe as it looks as though its melting. I would never walk on a loch like that unless I knew the depth below me as its almost impossible to get back out without an ice axe or ski poles.
Yeah, I thought the bit they were on was definitely about to melt. It actually gave me the horrors when I got home off shift and really thought about it – and the fact that you really would struggle to get out above the ice again! 😮
