Help – Be a Photo Judge (Autumn)

12 11 2013

We’re having a photo competition at work with the theme of ‘Autumn’. It has to be a recent photo and, unfortunately, there hasn’t been much action in the ‘golden trees’ department this year so most of the photos I’m trying to choose between don’t focus on golden trees, but rather, golden landscape.

Please have a look through and leave comments on which you think are best – I can only enter one photo (click on photos for true size/resolution).

Scafell & Great How Crags
1 – Scafell & Great How Crags

Burnmoor with Scafell & Sheep
2 – Burnmoor Tarn

Golden Duddon Valley
3 – Duddon Valley

Autumn Duddon fm Seathwaite Tarn Descent(C)
4 – Below Seathwaite Tarn

Autumn Trees under Wallowbarrow
5 – Autumn Trees in Duddon

None of these are ‘photo-shopped’…

Thanks folks 🙂

Number one and two are favorites for me. But, just a question – you wrote you didn’t photoshoped them. Did you use some filters or something, because they looks so different, so special. Congrats!

Thank you. I have to say the first photo is my personal favourite. I didn’t use any filter other than a ‘skylight’ or ‘daylight’ basic filter and I mainly use that to keep my lens from getting scratched or damaged. The warmth is really the result of it being a film photo rather than digital I think – I always think there is more warmth with film…

I like number three. It’s full of interest and the colours say AUTUMN. But they are all very good. I like the Burnmoor Tarn picture as well because my wife and I went swimming in it on one of our first walks together back in the early 80s.

Thanks 🙂 I’m hoping to camp up at Burnmoor next summer – and take my ‘daft little blow-up boat’. Not sure about swimming in it though – I’m a bit soft!

Thanks Bob – I’m just hoping it represents ‘Autumn’ enough without any trees…

I’d go for the Scafell one. Great colours and depth.

They are all very good, Carol, but I would go for No 1.

You could create a poll on your blog for these. It’s quite easy.

Yeah I thought about that – might do that if I do another but possibly a bit late now as I think most people who are going to have read this now… Any preference for which photo?
