Feel free to add your own stats in the comments below…
Not much in my stats this year courtesy of my often non-working, needing-replacing bad hip. Hardly anything in Scotland in fact…
Munro Top Compleation day on An Teallach
Munros: 2 repeats
Munro Tops: 3 – all for my Compleation in May
Corbetts: 2
Wainwright Reascents: 18
Wainwright Outlying: 11
Other: 6
Non-grand hill total: 42
Scottish trips: 2 Scottish hill days: 3 summit views: 2
Car Camping trips: only 1 night 😦
Cancelled Scottish trips: 1 – Tower Ridge. I was pretty upset having to cancel that but the weather was dire on the day which would have made it pretty dangerous really so maybe I shouldn’t moan.
No outdoor rock climbs unfortunately, although plenty of indoor wall climbing – I’ve actually done a few 6a climbs now – I’d only done one previous to this year…
Although my hip has been very bad indeed and extremely limiting for walking, my chest miraculously cleared up from last year’s problems – I still have a severely restricted chest capacity though but that doesn’t stop me hillwalking, only the hip does.
Hope you all have a great 2018 and thank you for reading 🙂
Happy new year!
42 hills seems pretty good to me especially given the physical issues. The most I’ve ever done in a year is around 30, though distance from anywhere remotely hilly doesn’t help in my case. 26 for me this year which was a considerable improvement on last year!

No, living where you do severely restricts hill access!

Given that you’ve moved house and have on going hip problems your stats look okay. Some years I just don’t get many hills done. Weather, family, kids and health can stymer ones best intentions. All the best for 2018.

I just found my performance very disappointing. But the house move was a big part of not doing much as I was to and fro between my old place (where I’m still working) and the new house and that took up a lot of time. Plus I’ve been moving quite a bit of furniture myself via van hires.

Our Lismore cottage certainly took up a considerable amount of my time last year. I’m sort off in the same boat as you; living in two places and at times working north and south of the border. I’m trying to keep the work situation part time but it’s not easy. I guess I should be flattered as word gets about and people seek me out to do jobs for them………..

it’s great that you’re getting casual work on Lismore though – very good for the future!

Best Wishes Carol, Happy New Year and hope you have a healthy 2018 with loads of good new adventures. I seem to be town and city bagging now thanks to my bus pass. 6a is pretty good going for a mature climber with dodgy bones.
Watched the New Year party here on TV- always think it’s a totally over rated event/ concept. Thought that since my teens though :o)

now bus passes make my blood boil! I’ll never get one 😦 nor will poor Richard
We tried to get the Alba Hogmanay programme but my Mum & Dad’s TV was taking exception to a lot of channels that night and it was breaking up badly 😦
