Last Artwork Post (hopefully)

16 03 2020

Still no walking to speak of (and now even the dancing has been cancelled) so putting out what is hopefully my final ‘artwork’ post. Hoping to get some photos taken and some walking done soon!

I promised Alli I’d put these out so here they are – based on heavy metal album covers/labels from the 70s…

Led Zep’s Swansong record label – note where I ran out of room at the top of the paper! 😉

Hi Carol, thanks so much for posting these – I’m so glad you did because they’re all amazing! I absolutely love the hermit, and the detail in the folds of his cloak are wonderful. So sorry to hear the dancing has been cancelled, what a blow that will have been to you. I hope you’re keeping your chin up in these extremely weird times. Perhaps you’ll think about taking your pencils up again and producing some more amazing artwork to help keep you busy if you’re stuck at home. We’re getting out for a few walks in the countryside, which really helps, but it’s going to be an interesting few months with all the restrictions and the schools closing. And apparently my daughter isn’t even going to be able to do her GCSEs this year! Very strange times indeed.

Keep well and stay in touch. And thanks for letting us see your fab pictures 🙂

Thanks Alli.

I was wondering what would happen about the school exams – it does make sense to close the schools though I think. Maybe they can take them at Christmas when the re-sits run?

Goodness knows, Carol. I think it’d be too late by Christmas because they’re all supposed to be settled into their sixth forms from September and studying for A Levels. Maddie’s results are meant to be dictating which school she can go to, but she’s not going to get results now, so I’ve no idea how it’ll pan out. Lots of uncertainty. Still, I agree that the schools should close. I took my two out from Tuesday anyway so they haven’t been in for the last few days. It’s playing havoc with my own studying though! 😦
I might get round to putting a post out myself one day, but so far this year it seems to have been one thing after another. Oh well, at least I’m not bored…
I hope you get out to do some walking soon. With luck we’ll get some reasonable weather before long so you can take your camera out and treat us all to some of your stunning pictures. 🙂

I was talking to a lady in our shop today and she pointed out that, due to not being able to take their exams, her grandkids won’t be able to take the university places they’ve been offered so I know what you mean – it’s a big problem.

I had a bad thought about putting a post out with photos – from my film camera anyway. If I do finish my film, that would mean getting into Carlisle to get the photos processed and, as I’m having to avoid public transport due to being ‘at risk’, I won’t be able to. I do have a digi-camera but the photos from it are just awful – landscapes are anyway.

I think I’m going to be ending up either putting out archival posts or not posting at all. My stats have dropped to almost nothing so it’s quite worrying really 😦

It’s more ‘restart the art’ (sounds like an ad for CPR!) 😉

Nice Artwork. You love your heavy metal bands Carol. I remember Budgie Planet of the Budgies cover art on their LP as it was very striking but not many others. I take it the Ozzy concert is cancelled now? That’s one thing I am avoiding is public transport as that’s the only time I get a cold normally is from there. Bit strange telling people to self isolate for two weeks or several months tonight on the news then complaining about empty shelf’s in supermarkets and panic buying. Doh! People have to eat food every day during any isolation period if they are avoiding shops- who knew!
And why the rush on toilet rolls? No mention of any loose bowels as a symptom. And what about Brexit?!! Who is dealing with Brexit and trade deals!!!! :o)

I’m seriously puzzled about the toilet rolls! Maybe you can eat them if you’re desperate!

I’m thinking all my concerts will get cancelled – my favourite group Helloween were playing here in June and I have a ticket but I’m pretty sure it won’t go ahead. I’ve also booked the Ozzy concert, Whitesnake/ Foreigner/ Europe and was about to book a Uriah Heep ticket. Luckily, I’d only booked one hotel so far…
