Merry Christmas to you all!

23 12 2017

Hope you all have a great Christmas!
This photo is of the sun one day this year – it was actually much brighter red than my digi-camera shows and was truly weird. The reason it was red, apparently, was because dust from the Sahara was in the atmosphere making it appear red through the haze…

Kendal Rambling – Hay Fell & Scout Scar

14 12 2017

Tue 12 & Wed 13 December 2017
Richard and I have just come back from our favourite winter Lake District Hotel – Castle Green at Kendal. We did as much walking as my knackered leg would allow but what with that and the weather, nothing high or difficult. Read the rest of this entry »

Upper Eskdale – the Difficult Route

11 11 2017

Wed 25 Oct 2017
This was a 2 Ibuprofen walk due to not being able to manage anything the day before on a simple riverbank walk in the valley! We were staying at our favourite hotel at Boot in Eskdale and I’d been looking longingly on the various photos on the hotel walls and on the map at Upper Eskdale – one of my favourite places in the Lakes which isn’t actually up a hill. There are various wide ridges up the ‘front’ with interesting looking gills between them – this is one of those gills… Read the rest of this entry »

Base Brown’s Pointy Nose

13 10 2017

Some years ago

New House – Motorbike Move

22 09 2017

Wed 20 Sep 2017
One of the trickier things I had to move for my house move was my motorbike, ‘Millie’. Why is it difficult to move my bike you may well ask? Well, for a start, she hadn’t gone further than down the end of my road and back once a year for the last 10 years – apart from a quick trip for an MOT in May – and the journey to my new house is 100 miles. A trifle optimistic I’d say… Read the rest of this entry »
